In the last five years, revival of the ancient Indian languages has caught the fancy of everyone. The number of MPs taking oath in English has seen a decline from 112 taking oath in English in 2014 to just 54 doing the same in 2019. Sanskrit was the third most popular language for MPs to take oath in Lok Sabha this year.
The ministry of Human Resource Development is planning to set up at least two villages with Sanskrit speaking inhabitants near such institutes where the language is preserved and promoted.
The UP government has decided to release press notes in Sanskrit along with Hindi, English and Urdu.
