All the passengers sent for quarantine as per protocol
Vande Bharat Mission : Second flight from Ukraine with stranded Indian nationals lands at Chandigarh
Chandigarh, May 31, 2020: Under Vande Bharat Mission, Phase-2 of Government of India to evacuate stranded Indian Nationals abroad, second flight operated to Chandigarh from Kiev (Ukraine) via Delhi on 31.05.2020.
Aircraft landed at Chandigarh Airport at 03:12 AM with 144 passengers from various adjoining states. The state wise number of passengers were: Chandigarh – 2, Himachal Pradesh – 54, Haryana – 53, Punjab – 34 & Rajasthan – 1.
Flight was handled following all the guidelines issued by Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Civil Aviation.All the measures related to COVID-19 were at place at the airport.
All passengers were screened by the health department, Punjab and subsequently handed over to respective states after immigration & customs clearances.
Afterwards, all the passengers were sent for quarantine as per protocol issued by respective states. Respective state authorities had arranged the transportation for shifting passengers to the correspondingstates.
Arriving passengers were happy to reach their native country. Processing of passengers went smooth at the Airport.This was possible by the joint efforts of all the authorities/agencies which were involved in the processing of passengers which were Punjab State Govt., Haryana State Govt., Chandigarh Govt., Himachal Pradesh Govt., CISF, Immigration, Customs, Punjab Police, etc., alongwith Chandigarh International Airport. All authorities/agencies performed their work with proper co-ordination and in tandem.
