Chandigarh, July 1, 2020: Punjab School Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla on Wednesday said the state will appeal against Punjab and Haryana High Court order of June 30 which stated that schools in the state can charge admission fee and also tuition fee even if they are not holding online classes.

Speaking at an impromptu press conference, Singla said protecting the interest of parents and children is paramount for the state government and they will file an appeal before a double bench of the High Court in this regard.
He said on May 14, the government had ordered that schools could only charge tuition fee if they are holding online classes and no annual, administration, transport or any other fee could be charged, neither could they cut salary of teachers nor could they expel students.
