Door to door sampling in vulnerable areas on cards
S.A.S. Nagar, July 18, 2020: The extensive sampling and contact tracing has brought to fore twenty one new COVID-19 positive cases, informed Deputy Commissioner Girish Dayalan.
“Taking no chances in view of recent spike in cases, the rate of sampling has been intensified and extensive contact tracing is afoot so that spread of infection may be curtailed,” said he.
“We have increased the work force and have called the employees from other departments to serve as the support staff to strengthen the Control Room and to record the data of inbound travellers”, said he. The number of testing teams and safety protocol enforcement teams has also been spruced up, he added. Door to door sampling is on cards and if need be we will commence the same in vulnerable areas.
Meanwhile, the new cases that surfaced include seven cases 27 F, 22 F, 23 F, 26 F, 22 M, 29 M, 50 F all from Sohana hospital, four cases 34 M, 17 F, 20 F, 48 M from Sector 125, Sunny Enclave Kharar , one case of 55 M from AOM Enclave Mohali, one 52 M from Motia Regal Dhakoli, one 65 M from Sunny Enclave Zirakpur, one 30 F from High Land Park Zirakpur, three cases 29 F, 27 M and 49 F from Sector 69, Mohali, one 35 M from Mohali, one 25 M from Kharar and one 39 M from Peer Muchhala.
There was an unfortunate death of one 43 year male, resident of Preet Colony, Zirakpur. He was suffering from Blood sugar. He died at GMCH, sector 32, Chandigarh.
Eight patients were discharged including 69 M sector 97, Mohali, 35 M phase 4, 15 F Kurali, 40 M Sector 78 Mohali, 25 M Phase 3 Mohali, 34 M, 58 F and 38 M Kharar.
The total Cases in the district crosses five hundred mark with total 513 cases and the active being 185. The number of patients who have recovered is 318 and there have been 10 deaths.
