Fatehgarh Sahib, July.23, 2020: District Civil and Police administration is working round the clock to save the people from covid-19 by risking their own lives and many police personnel and civil officials have been tested positive, while performing their duties, but the people continue to violate the instructions issued by the state government to control the spread of covid-19 and the administration had to take action and penalize them, said Amrit Kaur Gill Deputy Commissioner and Amneet Kondal SSP while addressing the media persons here today.
SSP said that the District Police have collected Rs.59 Lakh approximately as fine from the people for violating various directions including driving without wearing masks, not maintaining distance, violating quarantine. She said that till now 458 cases have been registered and 703 persons arrested and 171 vehicles have been impounded for violating the directions of the government. She said that three cases have been registered regarding the quarantine violations.
Deputy Commissioner said that the helpline number regarding covid-19 medical services is 01763-232136 and police helpline number is 112 where people can inform the police regarding the quarantine violations and other covid-19 related issues. She said that to sort out employment related problems due to covid-19, unemployed can contact the district bureau of employment and enterprises on its helpline number 99156-82436, besides this various self employment schemes are also available. She said that Fatehgarh Sahib district has been placed at fourth position in downloading the COVA App. She called upon the people to download this app and to join mission Fateh and to follow safety measures to defeat COVID.
