All advised quarantine
Fatehgarh Sahib. August 05, 2020: Panic prevailed among the district civil and police officials as soon as today afternoon the news spread that SDM Fatehgarh Sahib Dr. Sanjeev Kumar has been tested positive, as he had come in contact with Deputy Commissioner, SSP, SPs, MLA Fatehgarh Sahib Kuljit Nagra, MLA Bassi Pathana Gurpreet Singh GP, Dr. Amar Singh MP, Civil Surgeon and other district officials during a function held in civil hospital Fatehgarh Sahib yesterday, in which Dr. Amar Singh MP flagged off three ambulances purchased from MP LAD fund and all these officials were present there and they had a refreshment together. As per the COVID guidelines all those who come in close contact with positive are advised quarantine and to undergo tests after five days. Some of the officials left their offices and quarantined themselves and some postponed all their engagements. M L As and MP have quarantined themselves in their respective houses. DC has advised all to quarantine and urged people to strictly follow the guidelines.
Dr. N.K.Aggarwal Civil Surgeon said that he has quarantined himself and has told the government in this regard all have been advised quarantine. He said that there is no immediate need to go for testing as the highest level of virus is on the fifth day.
Meanwhile 14 cases were reported today taking the tally to 416. He said that 18819 samples have been collected till today and out of these 17790 were tested negative and 416 positive. He said that 292 have been cured and discharged from hospital and there are 121 active cases, whereas three deaths have been reported.
