Central varsity VC Prof Tiwari meets Gobind Singh Longowal
A special section on Sikh History will be created at CUPB Library
Bathinda September 02, 2020: In pursuance of extending scholaristic services of Central University of Punjab, Bathinda (CUPB) to the land of Punjab, Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari, the Vice-Chancellor CUPB today met the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President, S. Gobind SinghLongowal. Prof. Tiwari also paid obeisance at Gurudwara Sahib, Kaimbowal, Sangrur.
During this interaction Prof. Tiwari briefed SGPC President about his vision to establish a special Chair dedicated to Shri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji to mark the 400th birth anniversary of the ninth Sikh Guru. He requested longowal to provide necessary support in this regard.
Prof. Tiwari said , " our university is committed to promoting rich Punjabi Culture endowed with values of humanity and oneness. He said that our university is planning to establish a special section of ‘Sikh History’ at CUPB Library. He requested SGPC President to provide vital ‘Sikh Literature’ to add strength to this initiative and other support to accomplish the task."
S. Longowal honoured Prof. Tiwari & Registrar K.P.S. Mundra by presenting a book on Sant Harchand Singh Longowal. He gave his best wishes to Prof. Tiwari for the successful endeavours at CUPB.
He assured Prof. Tiwari that all necessary support and facility will be provided to the University in implementing the projects related to Sikh Legacy and rich Cultural Heritage of Punjab.
