Farmers outfits protest continue on 2nd day, extends morcha up to Sept 29
Ferozepur, September 25, 2020: The farmers protested entered the second day today by blocking the railway track at Basti Tankan Wali with support from various organizations for the rollback of three farm ordinances.
Added here, the railways have already suspected the 14 pairs of special passengers trains in the wake of protest by the farmers, in the Ferozepur rail division.
The Punjab bandh has got a good response from almost all the categories and appeal has been made by the farmers to many more to join the protest.
Addressing the protesters, Satnam Singh Pannu, State President, Jasbir Singh Pidhi, Vice President, Ranbir Singh Thatha, Narinderpal Singh Jatala, Rachpal Singh Gatta Badshah, Ranjit Singh Khacharwala, Gurmel Singh Fatewala have announced to extend the protest till September 29, and urging to the NRIs and Punjabs not to send funds to Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee Punjab for making fake IDs as it is prohibited to take funds as per the law of the organization. Strict legal action will be taken against those who send funds to that organization.
Repeating their earlier decision, the farmer leaders said, the BJP MPs who have supported the three ordinances would not be allowed to enter in the villages. Saying this, they have not read the ordinances, looks to be ridiculous but the farmers have read the same, and all the articles are written are in favour of the Corporate houses. Moreover, there is no mention of the MSP – minimum support price.
The farmer's leaders strongly demanded that the said Ordinance such as Essential Commodities Rules 1955 Amendment Ordinance 2020, Farmers Produce Trade 2020 and Price Guarantee Agricultural Services Ordinance 2020 should be repealed immediately, the draft of Electricity Amendment Bill 2020 and the anti-farmer amendment made by the Punjab Government in the APMC Act on August 14, 2017, should be canceled by calling a special session of the Vidhan Sabha.
