Kisan Sangharsh Committee Punjab demand Human Friendly Agriculture Development Model
Ferozepur, October 13, 2020: Farmers under the banner of Kisan Sangharsh Committee Punjab continued to squat on rail tracks in protest against the Central farm Acts for 20th day. Demanding Farmer-friendly Agriculture Development Model, the protesters burn the effigies of PM and heads of Corporate Houses and organized a march in the bazaars of city.
Addressing the protestors, the State President, Satnam Singh Pannu, Inderjit Singh Bath, Ranbir Singh Thatta, Balwinder Singh Lohuka and Gurdev Singh Shahwala rejected the Corporate Agriculture Development Model completely and considered Nature and Human-Friendly Agricultural Development Model as a guarantee of all aspects of society.
They demanded that the procurement at the Minimum Support Price – MSP - of the crops of the farmers should be included in the fundamental rights with a constitutional guarantee to prevent further deterioration and destruction of the farming profession.
The farmer leaders further said that the agrarian crisis has been created by world capitalism and it is a misconception of the a development model that economy is above morality and productivity is above human creativity and these anti-nature and anti-human ideas.
The farmers' leaders on the occasion strongly demanded that the Farm Acts should be repealed by Prime Minister after listening to the voices of the farmers of the country, leaving behind bigotry and arrogance and implementing a pro-nature and human-friendly agriculture policy adding to pay compensation of Rs. 6,000 per acre for straw management and to clear the entire a debt of farmers and laborers.
