Farmers to burn effigies on Oct. 23 at Amritsar and Tarn Taran and across Punjab in 800 villages on Oct. 25
KMSC protest enters 29th day, demands to make public special session draft to override Farm Laws
Ferozepur, October 18, 2020: Hundreds of farmers, laborers and women led by Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee Punjab continued with their demand to repeal of amendments made by Punjab Governments in APMC Act 1961 on 2005, 2013 and 14-8-2017 and repeal of Power Amendment Bill 2020 on 25th days of rail roko protest and urged the government to made public the special session draft on agriculture farm bills to pass legislation to override farm laws.
Added here, the farmers groups in Punjab and Haryana are protesting the Bills, fearing deregulation will leave them vulnerable to powerful coroproate houses. The reforms had alrady cost the BJP one of the oldest allies, the Shiromani Akali Dal-SAD, which has quit the alliance.
Addressing a gathering of agitators, Ranbir Singh Thatta, Balwinder Singh Lohukan, Surinder Singh Ghudduwala announced that in further action plan, the effigies of PM and Corporate Houses will be burned on October 23 at Amritsar and Tarn Taran followed with the same action throughout the State on October 25, in around 800 villages.
The farmers leaders further said that the intelligence agencies of the Center and the Punjab government were making continuous efforts to disperse the peaceful agitation of the farmers and the incidents of petty killings and looting in Punjab were being linked with the knock of terrorism which are not based on logics. The fact is that Punjab Ministers is referring to the state of law and order in Punjab at the mercy of God, is also a matter of investigation.
The farmers leaders demanded immediate repeal of the three ordinances, an impartial inquiry into the attack on BJP leader Ashwani Kumar and to bring the culprits on surface behind the murder of Balwinder Singh Bhikhiwind.
Present on the occasion were Baljinder Singh Talwandi Nepala, Balraj Singh Feroke, Sukhwant Singh Lohukan, Angrez Singh Butewala, Lakhwinder Singh Jogewala, Khilara Singh Pannu, Amarjit Singh Santu Wala, Sukhwinder Singh Kuhala, Lakhvir Singh Buianwala, Mehtab Singh Kachar Bhan, Lakhwinder Singh Basti Namdev. , Balkar Singh Jogewala, Jarnail Singh Warswala, Sahib Singh who also addressed the gathering.
