Ludhiana, June 25, 2016
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) senior leaders, reacting to the registration of six cases by CBI against Akali MLA from Talwandi Sabo Jeet Mohinder Singh Sidhu and Fastway MD Gurdeep Singh along with 16 others for fraud and criminal offences, demanded that the culprits may be arrested immediately and punished as per law of the land.
The Punjab and Haryana High Court in September 2015 had handed over the case to a team of CBI, ICRMS officers for enquiry.
In a hard hitting statement issued here today, Aman Arora and Gulshan Chhabra, president and vice-president of Industry, Trade and Transport Wing of AAP and Col. (Redt.) CM Lakhanpal Ludhiana Zone Coordinator said that this has vindicated the allegations of rampant corruption through unfair and fraudulent ways adopted by the highly connected people of the ruling party.
They also slammed both Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Congress President Captain Amarinder Singh for playing dirty political game and working hand in glove to loot Punjab, as MLA Jeet Mohinder Singh was a very close confident of Amarinder Singh, who shifted his loyalty to SAD only to get his fraud cases settled.
They added that it was evident from the chronology of the events, that the accused MLA joined the ruling Party taking Captain Amarinder Singh in confidence. The leaders said that their secret agreement was also clear from the fact that both never blame each other for corruption in these days and even Capt Amarinder Singh taken stand against CBI enquiry in the infamous drug case of more than Rs.6000 crore as demanded by all Congress legislators. Now both Badals and Amarinder were only targeting AAP and its national Convener Arvind Kejriwal, keeping in view the fast growing popularity of AAP among Punjab people.
AAP leaders also strongly criticized the Badals for petronising the Cable mafia being run by Fastway Group, which had imposed a complete media emergency in state and the people were being denied their right to information through media.
