SVEEP Voter Awareness Campaign ignites democratic spirit at HKL Group of Institutes
Empowering Democracy's Legacy: Youth Enthusiasm Shines in Lok Sabha Elections, SDM.Sh. Gagandeep Singh affirms
Under the auspices of the HKL Group of Institutes, a vibrant SVEEP (Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation) voter awareness program recently unfolded, marking a significant stride in bolstering democratic values among the youth ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. Guided by District Election Officer Rajesh Dhiman, the event was graced by esteemed dignitary Assistant Returning Officer-cum-SDM Gagandeep Singh resonated with the fervour of young voters eager to embrace their role in shaping the nation's democratic landscape.
The program, meticulously orchestrated under the guidance of Dist youth & women icon, CEO of institutions Madam Samiksha Gupta, witnessed spirited contributions from Managing Director Dr. Praveen Gupta and Principal Dr. Neeraj Kumar Gode. The stage came alive with captivating performances, including choreography, skits, and patriotic melodies, emblematic of the students' profound love for the democratic ethos.
In his address, SDM Gagandeep Singh underscored the pivotal role of young voters in fortifying the democratic legacy, urging them to turn out in large numbers for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Punjab on 1st June 2024. He commended the institutions' proactive efforts in nurturing a culture of democratic engagement among the youth.
The event delved into the theme of 'Role of Youth in Democracy,' aligning with the Election Commission of India's SVEEP Plan. Experts from the SVEEP Academic Wing, including Mrs. Rinkal Munjal and Surinder Kumar, alongside SVEEP Coordinator Parvinder Singh, enlightened the students on various facets of the electoral process, including the EVM's operating system, voter registration procedures, and ethical voting practices.
Principal Dr. Neeraj Kumar extended a heartfelt vote of thanks, emphasizing the significance of each vote in upholding democratic ideals. The multifaceted presentations by the college's talented students resonated deeply with the audience, epitomizing the pinnacle of democratic culture.
The success of the program was a collective effort, with the active involvement of the Superintendent of the SDM office Kewal Krishna, Election Tehsildar Chand Prakash, District SVEEP Coordinator Dr. Satinder Singh, and other dedicated Principal Dr. Meenu Grover, Mrs Amana Gakhar, Mandeep Kaur, Manmeet Kaur, Ms. Parvinder Kaur, Amit and the whole staff member. Their unwavering support contributed significantly to the program's impact, furthering the cause of voter awareness and democratic participation.
