Ludhiana, April 9, 2024: Ravneet Singh Bittu, Candidate from Ludhiana Loksabha on BJP Ticket, launched a direct attack on the Shiromani Akali Dal Badal (SAD) for not only supporting three controversial Agricultural laws initially passed by the Centre but also misguiding the Union Govt by giving them totally false and fabricated feedback about the bills.
"Shiromani Akali Dal Badal was the big partner at that time in Punjab and BJP was small, BJP had to trust whatever feedback was given by SAD on various local issues. The Badals backstabbed the farmers for their political existence. The Akali leadership at that time when the bills were made and passed in the Parliament is responsible for giving positive feedback initially about the bills and then making U-Turn because of political reasons," said Ravneet Singh Bittu.
"When Harsimrat Kaur Badal and S. Sukhbir Singh Badal saw the revolt is growing in the rural Punjab against the so-called agriculture bills then they starting opposing the bills. Farm laws were drafted with the consent of SAD’s Harsimrat Kaur Badal as Union Minister and even former CM Parkash Singh Badal said that there was no discrepancy.SAD changed its tune only after their stand backfired," he added.
Commenting on the recent protest by farmers in Punjab against the few BJP candidates, Bittu said that everyone has the right to protest but I must tell my farmers the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and the Home Minister of India Amit Shah are worried about the state of farmers in Punjab and they want to resolve their problems on priority.
"This would be my duty now that no farmer's protest starts after the elections are over and farmers are called for a meeting with the Prime Minister of India. The farmers don’t know how much the PM and HM regard and respect them, this is just because of a few leaders who misguide the farmers due to reasons better known to them. The PM and HM want to give Punjab a big boost not only in agriculture but a multidimensional push. After the formation of the new Government at the center on June 4, I will lead the farmer delegation to the Union Govt and they would be given red carpet welcome at the Prime Minister's Residence," he said.
