SVEEP team reaches Kaluwala island across Sutlej River near Indo-Pak border

Ferozepur, May 9, 2024: In preparation for the forthcoming Lok Sabha Election 2024, an enlightening awareness program aimed at maximising voter participation was organized by the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) team, by reaching Kaluwala village after crossing Sutlej River by boat, near Indo-Pak border.
According to the instructions of the DC-cum-DEO, Rajesh Dhiman, the voter awareness campaign under the SVEEP program reached 14 villages located on the banks of the Sutlej River near the Indo-Pak border. After crossing the river Sutlej by boat, the SVEEP team also reached Kalu Wala, an island very close to the Zero Line, covered by Sutlej from three sides and one side touching the Pakistan border.
Dr. Satinder Singh District SVEEP Coordinator said that in the villages adjacent to the Hussaini Wala Martyrdom Memorial, where the voters have been encouraged to exercise their right to vote for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 besides encouraging to maintain the dignity of elections by conducting drug-free elections without any greed, fear or fighting during the elections. He said that all possible efforts are being made to increase the poll percentage in the Lok Sabha elections to be held on June 1.
SVEEP team member Lakhwinder Singh Coordinator 76 Ferozepur Urban, Rajinder Kumar Media Coordinator and volunteers of the National Service Planning Unit of Government Senior Secondary School Gatti Rajoke and members of Electoral Literacy Club visited the village Gatti Rajoke, Tediwala and Kaluwala island from house to house and educated the voters and explained the importance of voting.
After this, in the voter awareness program organized in Government Senior Secondary School, Gatti Rajo, the school students made attractive posters that conveyed the message of voter awareness and encouraged people to fearlessly vote based on religion, class, caste, community, language or any other. Also, exercise your right to vote without the influence of greed and strengthen democracy.
In making this program successful Chand Prakash Election Tehsildar, Gagandeep Kaur Election Kanugo, Lakhwinder Singh Coordinator, Priyanka Joshi Program Officer NSS, Vishal Gupta, Kanchan Bala, Malkit Singh Volunteer, Sarabjit Singh Bhavra Social Media Incharge, Baljit Kaur and School staff, made a valuable contribution.
