Ferozepur, July 1, 2016: The 7th Pay Commission report has failed to impress Northern Railways Mens Union (NRMU) and Uttariya Railway Mazdoor Union (URMU). Both the Unions had decided to oppose the recommendations of the commission and threatened that if the Centre Government implemented these recommendations the all employees of Railways will go on nationwide indefinite strike from 11th July 2016.
National president of URMU Parveen Kumar claimed the recommendations of 7th Pay commission as a hoax with the employees. He said that the railways employees would never accept the recommendations of the 7th pay commission at any cost. He added that the all the unions of the Railways have disapproved these recommendations and decided to oppose them. He said that if the Centre Government tried to implement these recommendations the rail employees would go on indefinite nationwide strike from 11th July 2016 till the fulfilment of their demands.
However, the NRMU hold a meeting at Jalandhar in this pretext on Thursday in which the union claimed the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission as cheating with the employees.
Divulging with the details of the meeting, the Divisional Secretary told that watching the inflation and they were demanding the minimum slab of scales from 26000, but the government had risen this slab of the scale up to only 18000, which is the record of minimum range of rise in the pay scales till today.
He said, apart from this the other allowances and facilities had also been on decline side as comparative to the previous pay commissions. The NRMU also supported the decision of the URMU to proceed on nationwide strike.
