CM Nitish Kumar with Sant Seechewal at Sultanpur Lodhi
Sultanpur Lodhi, Feb 19, 2017: Bihar government will implement the 'desi' water treatment technique developed by noted environmentalist Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal in the rural areas of its state.
This was disclosed by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar who visited Sant Seechewal's abode Nirmal Kutia here on Sunday. Nitish Kumar said he was highly impressed by this indigneous technique of treating the polluted water developed by Sant Seechewal. Both had met at the 350th Birth Anniversary celebrations of Guru Gobind Singh organised recently at Patna by Bihar government.
It was there he learnt about the works done by Sant Seechewal for the improvement and protection of environment including this technique, added the CM.
He also visited the sewerage treatment plant to see for himself how this technique worked. Sant Seechewal also got a polluted water sample tested and showed its result to the visiting CM.
Later, Nitish Kumar paid obeisance at historic Gurdwara Ber Sahib where he was presented with a Siropa. Senior SGPC officials were present on the occasion.
