Jalandhar/Kapurthala April 24, 2017: Engineering education, Practical knowledge is more important than theoretical knowledge, because engineering is a subject to build not to plan only, said TJ David, Director of Technology Park, IASE University, Rajasthan.
David was the keynote speaker in brain storming session held at I.K.Gujral Punjab Technical University Kapurthala. The topic of session was “Energy Efficient Holistic Technologies". Event was organized by International Resource Center for Universal Human Values & Ethics of University. Around 150 students and teachers from various departments attended this session.
During inaugural session, Dr. Sukhbir Singh Ahluwalia, Director, IRC-UHVE, IKGPTU Kapurthala welcomed to Chief Guest and speaker of the session. He shared about the M.Tech Holistic Development- Systems and Technologies (HD-S&T) being offered by IRC-UHVE. The objective this M.Tech is to develop students with entrepreneurship skills.
Dr. Jagmeet Bawa, Assistant Professor IRC-UHVE introduced Mr. T J David to all. Mr. David is an un-conventional innovator and scientist. He is an expert in energy loss control systems, both in conventional and non- conventional source of energy, other than space science, robotic/automation. Mr. David own more than 150 innovations and has filed around 50 patents. He has been working in IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay and IIIT Hyderabad. He is also consultant for industry.
Mr. David shared about his life time experience of developing the inventions. He has developed a solar crop harvester. Further he shared that the objective of this invention is to provide most low cost machine to help Indian farmers, to improve their poor to worse financial conditions. This innovation has been awarded by Department of Science & Technology, New Delhi, LOCKHEED MARTIN and FICCI Award for world’s 1st most efficient Solar Crop Harvester. Ms. Mohit Jain and Mr. Vinay Kehar were coordinating the session.
