Ferozepur, April 25, 2017 : The Indian Railways plans to introduce dedicated train services for domestic and international tourists, catering to customers at all income levels and drafting a tourism policy for the first time in a bid to increase private partnership in running tourist trains.
A concept of tourist train with differential tariff will be worked out. The train will comprise different classes of accommodation like Sleeper 3A, 2A and 1A coaches, as per demand besides providing the facility of picking the passengers from home and dropping them back at the same place.
Under the new draft policy, the Railways plan to unveil “Bharat Darshan Trains” catering for the masses with sleeper class coaches besides Astha Circuit Trains, Hill Tourism Train, Foreign Tourism Train Steam Tourism Train and state Tirath Trains under Religious Tourism with tour packages.
Railways have invited suggestions from the passengers on the web site of IRCTC, Twitter handle or direct to the DRM offices before drafting the final policy to endow with better services, said Rajneesh Srivastva, a senior official of the Divisional Railway Manager’s office.
