Ferozepur, April 26, 2017 : Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) leaders led by Balbir Singh, Senior Leader from Mudki in Ferozepur district, today registered their protest by burning the effigy of Kirpal Singh Bandugar, President, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), for removal of official Jathedar of Takht Damdama Sahib – one of the five temporal seats of Sikhism – in an unceremonious manner.
The leaders said, SGPC is under the control of SAD(Badal) and they are using their powers to retain and removing anyone.
The sangat of Mudki demanded from interim Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Dhian Singh Mand appointed by Sarbat Khalsa that he should start a struggle by taking with him the Jathedars with clean record, to get the control of gurdawaras from Badals besides making the best use of ‘Guru Ki Golak’ for the power and needy persons which is now a day being enjoyed by the Badals.
Present among other on this occasion were, Naib Singh, Manjit Singh, Gurmukh Singh, Darshan Singh, Iqbal Singh, Basant Singh, Balbir Singh Granthi, Gurpreet Singh, Gurcharan Singh Dhindsa who also condemned the removal of Jathedars abruptly by SGPC.
