Jalandhar, April 28, 2017: The Principals Association of Non Government Colleges affiliated to Guru Nanak Dev University has expressed its concern over the unfortunate incident taken place in Khalsa College Amritsar.
In a press statement issued here today, the President of the Association and the Principal of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar Dr. G.S. Samra said that the incident was undoubtedly an unfortunate one, but for that mishap the principal and the staff of the college were not be held responsible as they were working in accordance with University rules.
He said that the situation needed to be dealt with sensibly, keeping aside personal and political motives, and added that the Principal’s Association was with the parents of the deceased student in the moment of grief.
He appealed to the students of the region to abstain from such actions and not to be a plaything for the politically motivated interests. He advised them not to have any kind of grudge against the teachers and the Principal because they always think good about them.
On the behalf of the association, Dr Samra demanded that all the cases booked against the Principal and the staff be withdrawn because the latter were only following the rules set by the university; and neglecting those rules would make it difficult to maintain the standard of the education.
