DGP Suresh Arora awards commendation disc to SP Kanwardeep
Chandigarh: 22 July 2017: (APS Brar) The Patiala district stands at number one position in the passport service delivery under right to service act in the entire state. It is for the best performance of Patiala Saanjh Kendra. The average passport verification is now 7 days in Patiala. SBS Nagar is at number 2 slot under the Saanjh Kendra evaluation report.
DGP Suresh Arora awarded a commendation disc to IPS Kanwardeep Kaur SP, who is also serving as District Community Policing officer. She has improved the services and accelerated the progress of passport verification route by regular monitoring.
Speaking with babushahi, SP Kanwardeep Kaur said “Patiala district has emerged as number one in the recent evaluation report of Saanjh Kendras. We have fast-tracked the service delivery procedure”. The average passport verification is now 7 days in Patiala, she said.
Kanwardeep Kaur said “Saanjh Kendras set up across the state are dealing with registration of foreigners, investigation of cases of missing passports, complaints of fraud by travel agents, NRI complaints, tenant verification, registration and investigation of servants, passport verification and police clearance certificates at the time of foreign immigration, apart from other minor clearances”.
It is noteworthy, that the Bureau of Police Research and Development had also lauded the tireless efforts of Punjab government in introducing people friendly services through Saanjh Kendras. The e-governance initiatives and community policing of the government was appreciated by the bureau in its report tabled in 2015 to centre government.
