Cycle rally Malwa Fights Against Drugs on July 23 at Sangrur
Sangrur, July 22, 2017: The District Police and Sangrur Cycle Club are jointly organizing an anti-drug awareness rally on July 23 under the banner Malwa Fights Against Drugs.
Four MLAs of different political parties will also be part of the public participation in the rally being organized on the initiative of Sangrur SSP Mandeep Singh Sidhu.
The MLAs who have confirmed their participation include Vijay Inder Singla of Sangrur, Dalvir Singh Goldy of Dhuri, Aman Arora of Sunam and Harpal Singh Cheema of Dirba.
SSP Sidhu welcomed all MLAs for the participation to support the noble cause.
The rally is tipped to be the biggest in Punjab so far in which over 5000 people are expected to participate, said the SSP.
Outlining its route, he informed that the rally would be flagged off from the District Police Lines, Sangrur at 6 am and pass through Mastuana Sahib, Mahavir Chowk, Lightan Wala Chowk, Barra Chowk, Patiala Gate before culminating at Giolden Valley Palace.
All the participating volunteers in this 16.5 kilometres long rally will be presented certificates.
Sangrur Deputy Commissioner Amarpartap Suingh Virk and SSP Mandeep Singh Sidhu on Saturday formally released the rally T-shirts and certificates at the District Administrative Complex here. The T-shirts will be given free to all the participants.
