Files cancellation report in Ludhiana’s District and Sessions Judge court
VB gives clean chit to Amarinder in Ludhiana’s City Centre scam
Ludhiana, August 19, 2017: Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Saturday filed cancellation report in the alleged multi-crore Ludhiana City Centre scam case in which Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and 30 other were named as the accused.
The VB filed the report in the court of the District and Sessions Judge, Ludhiana, Gurbir Singh.
The court fixed September 2, 2017 as the date for consideration of the report.
Amarinder and others had been charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code relating to criminal breach of trust (409), cheating (420), forgery (465), forgery of valuable security (467), forgery for purpose of cheating (468), and using as genuine a forged document (471), criminal conspiracy (120-B) besides under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The VB had filed the charge sheet in December 2007 after investigating the case on the complaint of Chetan Gupta. But charges were not framed till date.

The City Centre project was approved by Ludhiana Improvement Trust. Its the then Chairman, Paramjit Singh Sibia was declared Proclaimed Offender after he failed to get the bail. He had later died.
