Hearing in murder cases against convicted Dera chief through video conferencing

Chandigarh, September 15, 2017: The hearing in two murder cases against the rape convict Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim will be done together through video conferencing by the CBI Court, Panchkula on Saturday September 16.
For security reasons, accused Dera chief will not be brought to Panchkula for hearing in the murder cases. He will, instead, be produced before the court for final arguments in both cases through video conferencing from the Rohtak jail where he is presently lodged.
The Haryana police and paramilitary forces are keeping a close watch on the law and order situation.
Of the two cases against him, one is related to murder of Ranjit Singh, brother of one of the two sadhvis on whose complaint Dera chief has been convicted in rape cases. The other cases is related to murder of Sirsa-based journalist Ram Chander Chhatarpati.
