Fazilka, September, 24, 2017 : During the 38 days’ journey stay at Fazilka after covering 1052 KMs, the Camel Safari expedition of 20 brave women squad of BSF and Air Force organized - to make people aware about gender discrimination and Beti Bachao beti Padhai Abhiyan - today visited the remote border village – Bakainwala and performed the commando skills to motivate the women of the area followed by national patriotism programme at Najeki Chowki on Indo-Pak border.
The expedition started from Barmer on August 15 which will conclude at Wagah border on October 2. The women squad is travelling to villages and hamlets on 20 camels and giving message of women empowerment. They are also inspiring people to send their daughters to uniformed services.
Anyushka Sharma leading the 20 brave women squad said, in case the morale of the women is weak, they themselves will become weak. We should not lose our courage to increase our morale. She said, every person needs a mother, sister and a wife, but the daughter is very less interested.
Murari Parshad, Commandant 90 Bn said, the girls in the border areas are now excelling in the field of education while serving the society with a sense of patriotism.
The skill performance – karate, passing through fire ball and hoisting the national flag - by the squad team members got applause from the audience.
The Camel Safari expedition will reach BSF 96 Bn on September 25.
