Chandigarh, October 3, 2017: Akali leader Sucha Singh Langah on Tuesday filed application seeking transit anticipatory bail in Punjab and Haryana High Court.
The application is likely to come up for hearing on Wednesday.
He has sought bail to be able to surrender before Ilaqa Magistrate at Gurdaspur.
The former Akali minister and SGPC member is on the run since he was booked on rape charges by Gurdaspur police on September 29, 2017.
Alleging political vendetta, he has petitioned that he might not be arrested but kept in unlawful custody in case he surrendered at the concerned police station.
He expressed apprehension that he might be subjected to third degree torture and atrocities at the behest of Congress MLA Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa.
