Punjab CM Badal during Sangat Darshan
Holds Sangat Darshan In Lambi Assembly Segment
Lambi, May 28, 2016: Dismissing the condemnation of opposition over various issues of state today, the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal said that he needs certification of last nine years of SAD-BJP performance not from opposition, but actually from the people of Punjab.
Replying to a query asked by the media persons on the sidelines of his Sangat Darshan programs conducted in the Lambi assembly constituency, Mr. Badal said that people of Punjab were neither helpless nor addicts, rather resilient Punjabis have contributed enormously towards the overall development of state and especially its hardworking farmers has played a pivotal role in making our country self sufficient in food production. He added that the Punjab government was accountable to the people of Punjab and thus his government hardly needs any kind of certification from anyone else.
Referring to Congress party’s allegations of so-called law & order turbulence in Punjab and making police administration target, the Chief Minister said that at present Punjab was the most peaceful and harmonious state of country. He added that petty incidents could happen at any point of time across any part of the world. He added that Congress was playing dirty politics over this sensitive issue as onlooker and advised its leadership to act responsibly for the betterment of the state.
Responding to a query on allegations of recruitment scam in state, the Chief Minister said that he has already ordered a vigilance inquiry to get into the bottom of the case and none of any person found guilty would be spared at any cost. In response to question regarding some accused in this scam being shielded, Mr. Badal said that if he has wanted to save someone, why would he have ordered an inquiry?
Earlier addressing the Sangat Darshan, Mr. Badal sought wholehearted support and cooperation from the farmers to counter the probable white-fly pest attack on cotton by destroying weeds around their fields that served as breeding ground for white fly. He said that by removing these weeds from around their fields, the white fly attack could be completely checked and the white gold crop of farmers could be saved unlike last year, which ruined our cotton growers in a devastating attack from white fly. He said that such problems could only be dealt with the motivation of people. He appealed the people to be vigilant and play an active role in eliminating white fly.
Calling upon people of Punjab to be ready for any supreme sacrifice to save our river waters- the state’s only natural resource, Mr. Badal said that Congress and AAP were hatching conspiracy to turn Punjab into desert. He added that both these parties were inimical to the interests of the state’s development and its people's prosperity was concerned.
Launching a scathing attack on Congress, the Chief Minister said that at different times Congress has entered into agreements to rob Punjab off its waters. He added that Haryana, Rajasthan and other states had no right on Punjab waters and instead are being given water illegally. The Chief Minister said that Arvind Kejriwal led AAP is also anti-Punjab, like Congress. He added that the affidavit Delhi government has given on SYL in Supreme Court has pulled mask off its face. He added that since Kejriwal himself belonged to Haryana, he has more affiliation for his native state and one should not expect him to think in larger interest of Punjab. He called upon people to be wary of both these political parties.
Mr. Badal said that Sangat Darshan programs were the best example of democracy. He added that as per democracy, people's problems are solved according to their needs. He said that Sangat Darshan programs are held only in Punjab in the entire country and the same would continue till the time people give him opportunity to serve them. He added that there was hardly any better platform than Sangat Darshan to ensure people's participation in development works and community welfare programmes. He called upon people to keep a tab on the developmental works of their respective areas. He added that besides ensuring timely completion of projects, the Sangat Darshan also ensures that works are done in a transparent manner.
