Fatehgarh Sahib, December 07, 2017: The report regarding desecration of Guru Granth Sahib at Bargari is also most complete and it will be submitted to the Govt. by the end of this month, said Justice ( Retd) Ranjit Singh Chairman of the Commission constitute to identify the culprits and causes of desecration of various religious granths, while talking to media persons here today. He along with other members inspected various sites in the district, where desecration of religious granths took place.
He said that the Govt. will also be appraised about the reasons and conditions behind the desecration of religious granths at various places and suggest measures to initiate to stop such incidents in future.
Answering a query, he said that prima facie it looks that such acts are not committed by any organised organisation or anti social elements with ulterior motive, but needs to be enquired very minutely from every angle considering each aspect.
Earlier Commission visited Railway Station Fatehgarh Sahib, where torn pages of Kuran were found, he visited village Sindhran, Ambey Majra, Chatarpura and Badesha Kalan where incident of desecration of Guru Granth Sahib were reported.
He talked in detail with village panchyats, members of Gurudwara Committees, prominent citizens, and witnesses. He also enquired about the enquiry conducted by police. He advised them to remain vigilant and to pay special attention for the security of religious places and to install CCTV cameras to avoid such incidents.
He was accompanied by the officials of district administration and police.
