Shimla, December 18, 2017: Two time Chief Minister and BJP’s Chief Ministerial candidate in Himachal Pradesh Prem Kumar Dhumal is trailing behind his Congress rival from Sujanpur seat at the fag end of the counting of votes.
Dhumal is trailing by about 3000 votes even as only two rounds of counting are left.
Political observers say that his rival and former BJP man Rajinder Rana contesting on Congress ticket had had an edge over Dhumal by virtue of his connection with the Sujanpur electorate and works done in the constituency.
Already the counting of votes is over all the segments where Dumal was considered strong.
His close associates have either been defeated or trailing elsewhere in the state. His close relative and former Himachal Pradesh Speaker Gulab Singh has already lost his seat. His daughter is married to Dumal’s son and sitting MP Anurag Thakur.
