Chandigarh, March 13, 2018: The Punjab Governor and Administrator UT Chandigarh Shri V.P. Singh Badnore today administered the oath of Office and allegiance to the Constitution and Secrecy to the newly inducted members of Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) in the presence of Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh. The six new incumbents are Mr. Amar Partap Singh Virk, Mr. Gurpartap Singh Mann, Smt. Jamit Kaur Teji, Mr. Lok Nath Angra, Prof. (Mrs.) Neelam Grewal and Non-official member Sh. Supreet Ghuman.
The Governor also administered the oath of office to Shri Khushwant Singh and Shri Sanjeev Garg as State Information Commissioner at a brief but impressive ceremony held in the Banquet Hall of Punjab Raj Bhavan.
Earlier, the Chief Secretary, Mr. Karan Avtar Singh sought the permission of the Governor to start the proceedings of swearing-in-ceremony.
Pertinently, the six PPSC members, who were administered oath by the Governor, come from diverse walks of life ranging across wide spectrum of the society.
Amar Partap Singh is a former IAS officer from the state, Gurpartap Singh Mann, a former Chief General Manager of the Punjab Infrastructure Development Board (PIDB), Smt. Jamit Kaur Teji, an associated professor of Punjabi at Government Post Graduate College for Girls, Sector 11 Chandigarh, Lok Nath Angra, a former IPS officer, Prof. (Mrs.) Neelam Grewal ex-dean Post Graduate Studies of PAU and Director Indian Council of Agriculture Research (IACR), Supreet Ghuman a practicing lawyer.
Amongst the two newly sworn in State Information Commissioners Khuswant Singh is an eminent author and a popular columnist besides Sanjeev Garg, who was associated with Aruna Asaf Ali Trust, Chandigarh and ex Vice-Chairman Punjab Agro Industries Corporation (PAIC).
Prominent amongst others who attended the swearing-in-ceremony included Cabinet Ministers Brahm Mohindra, Navjot Singh Sidhu and Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, MLAs Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Dr. Raj Kumar Verka, Amarinder Singh Raja Warring, besides Media Advisor to CM Raveen Thukral, Chief Principal Secretary to CM Suresh Kumar, Principal Secretary CM Tejveer Singh, Advocate General Punjab Atul Nanda, Secretary to Governor J. M. Balamurgan.
The family members, friends and well-wishers of newly appointed Members also graced the occasion. National Anthem was also played by the Police band on the occasion.
