Jalandhar, March 18, 2018 :
Beating Dhols, Union Minister and Punjab Bharatiya Janata Party President, Vijay Sampla and former Punjab Dy. Chief Minister, Shiromani Akali Dal President, Sukhbir Singh Badal, today boosted BJP’s state level campaign to expose the failures of Congress government in the state during the BJP’s ‘Bajao Dhol, Kholo Pol’ rally here today at Guru Gobind Singh Enclave today.
Addressing the rally, Vijay Sampla said that the Congress government, which came into power making false promises, stands exposed within one year. Sampla said that the government under Capt. Amarinder Singh is probably the first government in the country which has started winding up welfare schemes instead of initiating new ones. The Congress government has earned people’s hatred within the very first year of its term, he said.
Lambasting the Congress government, Sampla further said that while the Centre’s Modi government presents its report card every year, the state government is hiding its report card like a duffer student. Sampla said that the state government has no such report with which it can confidently go amongst the masses. Refuting Capt. Amarinder Singh’s claim of providing jobs to 1 lakh 62 thousand youths, Sampla said that the Congress government embarrassed the youths by inviting them to Rozgar Melas and get them humiliated by private companies.
Meanwhile, terming the Congress as the number one enemy of the people of Punjab, former Punjab deputy chief minister, Sukbhir Singh Badal said that the Congress had maligned the image of Punjab by labeling its youth as drug addicts. Questioning Capt. Amrinder Singh, he asked that if 70 per cent of the youth in the state were addicted to drugs earlier, then how many youth have been admitted to drug rehabilitation centers during his one year tenure and action against how many drug smugglers has been taken? The people of Punjab are witness to the fact that ‘Chitta’ has become common during Congress regime while the much-needed sand and gravel has been concentrated into the hands of a few Congressmen, he said.
Sukhbir Badal termed the Akali-BJP coalition as the first of its kind in the country which was selflessly working together. He said that the state finance minister was crying hoarse over empty coffers because the present government didn’t do any work for free which might have led to decrease in its income. The government which has drawn curtains on free facilities is now trying to mislead the people fearing that they might take to the streets to get the promises in the election manifesto fulfilled, he said.
Speaking on the occasion, former minister Bikramjit Singh Majithia said that the Congressmen are themselves admitting to government’s incompetence. The statements made by the finance minster and the local bodies’ minister prove that Capt. Amarinder Singh has given up.
Meanwhile, BJP national vice-president, Avinash Rai Khanna said that Capt. Amarinder Singh’s government wasted its first year in debauchery. The chief minister forgot the oath he took while holding a Gutka Sahib in hands within just a year.
The rally was also addressed by National secretary Tarun Chugh, Madan Mohan Mittal, former minister Manoranjan Kalia, Kamal Sharma, Rajinder Bhandari, Ashwini Sharma, Rajya Sabha MP Shwet Malik, MLA Dinesh Babu, Arun Narang, Som Prakahs and Swaran Salaria.
