MD Markfed and DC Sangrur review the wheat procurement arrangements
Two helplines launched for registration of complaints

MD Markfed Rahul Tiwari and Deputy Commissioner Sangrur Ghanshayam Thori visited the Sangrur and Bhawanigarh Mandis and reviewed the procurement process of wheat on Thursday.
During a meeting with officials of procurement agencies at office of market committee bhawanigarh, Rahul Tiwari and Ghanshayam Thori reviewed the procurement, lifting and payment processes.
The senior officers said that no negligence would be tolerated with regard to procurement process. The procurement agencies assured Rahul Tiwari that the process would be continued efficiently and effectively.
Deputy Commissioner Thori appealed to the farmers of the district for bringing only dry and clean wheat to the mandis. He assured the farmers that their produce would not be allowed to rot at any cost. He further clarified that if any combine would work at night or if any one tries to harvest the wet crop, strict legal action would be taken against both the combine owner and the farmer.
DC added that farmers can lodge any complaint related to the wheat procurement process on two helpline number 01672-234004 and 234042, which would be available for 24 hours.
