No order for food, alcohol in Jalandhar restaurants, pubs after 11 pm

Jalandhar, May 16, 2018: Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Jalandhar, Gurmeet Singh on Wednesday issued orders that no restaurant, bar and pub would be allowed to attend the food, alcohol order after 11 pm.
"It has come to my notice that a number of restaurants, bars, pubs and clubs falling under the jurisdiction of Commissionerate Jalandhar remain open till late hours in the night, and furthermore the D.Js play even after 10.00 pm disturbing peace and tranquility of the neighborhood apart from causing noise pollution," said the DCP.
So, he ordered that after 11 pm, no order for food, beverages, Alcohol etc. will be taken in any restaurant, bar, pub, club etc situated in the jurisdiction of Police Commissionerate Jalandhar. Besides, no new customer should be allowed to enter the premises of the restaurants, clubs, bars pubs etc. after 11 pm.
He also said that all restaurants, clubs, bars, pubs or any other such licensed eating or drinking place(except Ahatas) should completely shut down by 12. pm, midnight. In case of Ahatas attached to liquor vends, they shall be completely closed at 11 pm as per condition of the license.
As per the directions of the Supreme Court, the noise produced by any noise source shall not exceed 10db (A) (i.e. measure sound level) above the ambient noise standards for the area or 75 db (A), whichever is lower. Hence, all establishments should ensure that these standards are maintained.
All sound producing sources like D.J.s, live orchestra/singers etc. should be switched off or volume lowered at 10.00 PM. After 10.00 PM, no sound produced within any establishment or campus should be heard outside the boundary of such establishment, he added.
In case of vehicles with music system, it should be ensured that the sound produced by the music system should not be heard outside the vehicle at any time of the day
This order shall remain in force from 16.05.2018 to 15.07.2018.
