Cashless Treatment Worth Rs. 161.41 Given To The Beneficiaries
State Government Extends The Ambient Of Scheme Till October 2018

Forwarding benefit of state government's welfare scheme of cashless treatment to the poor strata of the society, district SBS Nagar has provided cashless treatment worth Rs 161.41 lakh under Bhagat Puran Singh Sehat Bima Scheme, in the district, since it's inception. As many as, 2733 patients have been provided treatment up to Rs. 50,000 per annum at empanelled privite hospitals including government hospitals, so far.
Divulging the above details, here today, the deputy commissioner, while reviewing the scheme with health department officials, said that after seeing the positive results of the scheme, the state government has extended its term second time. Now it will be in force till October, 2018, he added. Under the scheme, the families identified under Atta-Daal have been given special cards at a nominal membership rate of Rs 30 per family. Whenever anybody in need of any type of indoor treatment, he/she has to just shown the card and after that the concerned hospital would not charge any amount from that person up to the cashless limit of Rs. 50,000.
Deputy Medical Commissioner, Dr. Dyal Sarup, the nodal officer for the scheme, said that for the period of first extension from November 2017, a total of 402 patients have been given a treatment worth Rs. 18.22 lakh up to the month of April, 2018. Similarly, in the previous years, a total of 1133 patients have undergone cashless treatment worth Rs. 76.26 lakh during the period of 2015-16 (November to December). During the period of November 2016 to October 2017, a total of 1238 patients were given cashless treatment by the empanelled hospitals, worth Rs. 66.73 lakh.
He calls upon the Bhagat Puran Singh Sehat Bima Scheme card holders to draw maximum benefit of the Scheme up to the October 2018 and contact DMC office, in case of any problem. He also appealed them to show the smart card to the empanelled hospital before getting start treatment. The health officials who attended the meeting included Civil Surgeon Dr. Gurinder Kaur Chawla, District Family Welfare Officer Dr. Sukhwinder Singh, District Health Officer Dr. Kuldeep Rai, besides Senior Medical Officers of various PHCs and CHCs.
