Fatehgarh Sahib, August 16, 2018: Successfully completing the first phase of waiving of Co-operative loans of 3 Lakh farmers having less than 2.5 Acre land of worth Rs.1700 Crore, the Govt. is working out to initiate the second phase of waiving of loans of the commercial banks.
The Co-operative loans of farmers having up to 5 Acre of land will also be initiated, said Vikas Garg Registrar Co-Operative Society and S.K.Batish MD Co-operative Banks, while talking to media persons at village Jallah in the district.
They had come to inaugurate the Diesel Petrol Pump being set up by Co-Operative Society Jallah.
They said that the loans of only those farmers will be waived, who have taken the loan before 31st March 2017. Answering a query about discrimination by MARKFED with Societies, while distributing profit, they said that Markfed officials will be asked to give margin money to Co-operative societies on the pattern of IFFCO.
Latter addressing the farmers Vikas Garg said that Under Mission Tandrust Punjab the farmers have been directed not to burn the stubble as it not only affects the environment but also affects land productivity and kills friendly insects. He said that 10664 type of agricultural machinery equipment like Super SMS, Happy seeder, Paddy straw, paddy multure, Rotary slasher, Rotavator and Zero till drill machine on 80% subsidy are being given to Co-Operative societies to control the stubble burning.
SK Batish said that 90 Co-operative Societies in State are successfully running diesel pumps and 18 out of these are only in Fatehgarh Sahib district. He said that to increase the profit of Co-operative Societeis daily need stores will also be opened by societies.
