Finance Minister Visits Bathinda city, resolves public issues

August 19, Bathinda: Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Badal toured his constituency Bathinda Urban for the second consecutive day. On Sunday, he met citizens and congress party workers in his Panchayat Bhawan Office.
Large numbers of citizens met the Minister. The Minister listened and resolved the issues concerning the public. Many of the issues were addressed on the spot.
Elaborate security arrangements were made by the police around the office of the Finance Minister to keep check on the public protest announced by some employee’s organisations.
Earlier, in the morning, Minister attended a conference organised by Bathinda Academy of Pediatrics, where he interacted with eminent doctors. Then he left for Beant Nagar to meet the family of deceased Jagdish Kumar who lost his life in an accident occurred with stray animal. He also announced financial aid to the family.
In the morning, Minister also visited houses of Senior Congress leaders Darshan Ghudda and Raj Numberdaar.
While Talking to media persons at his office, Manpreet Badal said, “Development works were in progress in the city, all the pending works of sewage, road, water, parks of various wards are in process, funds have been allocated for various projects.” They will be completed in stipulated time.
(Women employees of Khalsa Secondary School waiting to meet Minister)
A delegation of women employees of Khalsa Secondary School led by Dyal Singh Aulakh met the Minister and complained against the newly elected managing committee of the school. They accused the committee members of harassing them and pressuring them to resign from their jobs. Baljit Kaur, Kiranjit Kaur, Jaswinder Kaur and Mohinder Kaur besides others met the Minister.
They told babushahi “We are working in the school, since the last 14 years, now the newly elected managing committee is harassing them with a motive to remove them”. We have given in writing to Minister, who had assured to take appropriate action, said Baljit Kaur, who is working as clerk since the last 14 years.
The Finance Minister was accompanied by Ashok Pardhan, Mohan Lal Jhumba, Darshan Ghudda, Rajan Garg, Kewal Krishan Aggarwal and Pawan Mani.
