BATHINDA, OCTOBER 11
The two-day Annual Cultural –Literary-Technical Festival ‘TARANNUM-2018’ commenced at Giani Zail Singh Campus College of Engineering and Technology (GZSCCET), Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda Campus with great enthusiasm and fanfare.
The fest and fete comprised of various technical events, creative competitions and talent oriented cultural performances. The event coincides with the International day of Girl child.
Chief Guest, MRSPTU, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Mohan Paul Singh Ishar, inaugurated the festival by lighting the ceremonial lamp. He highlighted the contribution of such techno-cultural events towards the shaping of young minds as this led to an overall grooming of their personality. He congratulated the organisers for providing excellent opportunity for students to present their talent, creativity in various fields.
Prof Gursharan Singh, Campus Director, GZSCCET, Bathinda, also motivated the students and encouraged them to take active part in various events to have multi-faceted personalities.
MRSPTU, Dean, Students Welfare, Prof. R.K. Bansal complemented amid thunderous applause that the function sends vibration throughout the World amongst its alumni, who have sent their good wishes for the grand success of the event, in which one such alumni young upright IPS Officer, Vikramjeet Duggal, AIG, Counter Intelligence, Punjab shall join the closing ceremony as a chief guest. Dr. Bansal gave a clarion call to his colleagues to impart students a good life, which is inspired by love and guided by knowledge.
Prominent among others present on the occasion include, University Registrar, Prof. Jasbir Singh Hundal, Director College Development Council, Dr. Ashok Goel and Dean Research and Development Savina Bansal and senior faculty members.
Under the category of Technical Events:
KILL THE BUGS: Leeshiv got first prize, while Mayank Goyal secured second position.
MULTI-MEDIA: First prize was won by Reetika and Abhy Kumar and Kundan Kishore jointly bagged the second prize.
CAD WAR : was won by Tejashvi Kumar Singh and Kundan Kishor bagged the second prize.
IN HOBBY CLUB CATEGORY :
RANGOLI : Priya and Priyanka got first prize, while Sagrika and Barbie got second prize.
CARD DECORATION: Gurkirtan singh got first prize, while Sakshi and Swaroop got second prize.
T-SHIRT PAINTING: Barbie and Sagrika got first prize, while Monty and Shruti got second prize.
SOLO SONG GIRLS: Jasveer Kaur got first prize, while Sneha Bharti got second prize.
SOLOR SONG BOYS: Azad Alam got first prize, while Siddharth Tomar got second prize.
LIGHT INDIAN VOCAL: Jasveer Kaur got first prize, while Panney Lal(2k16)

Box : PUNJAB’S FIRST WEB BASED SERIES – YAAR JIGREE KASOOTI DEGREE CREW ENTHRALS YOUNG TECHIES AT TARUNNUM.
Adding colour to the event, Punjab’s first web based series – “Yaar Jigree Kasooti Degree” crew enthralled young techies with live performance. YJKD is a Punjabi Tv Web Series written and directed by Rabby Tiwana. The star cast consisting Sarang Sikander (son of famous Punjabi folk singer Sardool Sikander) and Jasmine Bajwa, popularly known as Daizy along with team members Parteek Singh Rai, Pawan Johal, Karan Deol, Amrit Amby, Karan Sandhanwalia performed and danced live amid thunderous applause.
