Ferozepur, October 21, 2018: Amandeep Singh of Border village Bhanewala – Gatti Rahime Ke – won Gold Medal in Junior National Rowing Championship, in the partnership of Shawinder Singh of Fazilka, Akashdeep Singh of Samrala and Karam Chand of Chandigarh, held at Bhopal from October 2-7, 2018.
This achievement of Amandeep Singh has brought laurels to his family, village and nation as well and people of the area are feeling joyous over his success. Amandeep Singh, 17-year-old He has become a source of inspiration for the youths involved in the menace of drugs.
Amandeep Singh said, his journey of success is full of a number of obstacles but with the support of his uncle Manjit Singh Olympian and Coach Tejinder Singh and Pardeep Singh, he could win the Gold Medal.
Congratulating Amandeep Singh and his family members, Parminder Singh Pinki, MLA, Pritam Singh SSP, Baljit Singh SPD, Jaspal Singh Dhillon, DSP City honoured him. Pinki urged the youths to participate in the sports besides education so that youths of Punjab could be saved from drugs.
Present among others were family members and villagers – Jagdeep Singh father, Ujagar Singh grandfather, Gogi Pyareana, Dr.Bagicha Singh, Master Gulzar Singh, Mukhtiar Singh and others.
