Panchkula, November 08, 2018: Diwali was celebrated in a unique way at Brilliance World School, Sec 12 here. An interhouse paper lantern making competition was held at part of the Diwali celebration. Beautiful and innovative designs of paper lanterns were made by the students of grade VI to XII from all the four houses.
Students from grade I to V participated in a candle decoration competition. All candles were decorated form reused decoratives with the motive of making students aware about the concept and need for recycling. Plastic and non degradable materials were avoided in the making of the decorative candles.
In the lantern making competition Vindhyachal house cane first ,Aravali second and Himalya & Nilgiri were joint third. In candle making Nilgiri was first, Himalya second and Aravali third.
“The idea was to celebrate diwali in a creative way without resorting to use of air & sound polluting crackers. Children used eco friendly ideas while making the paper lanterns and decorative candles.” Said Niranjana Chatterjee, Principal, Brilliance World School.
