Chandigarh, November 18- Haryana Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal informed through his Twitter account@mlkhattar said that tomorrow will mark a historic day when the KMP expressway will be opened for the people.
Mr Manohar Lal tweeted, “On April 2016, the 53-km stretch between Manesar and Palwal was opened for public use. Tomorrow will mark a historic day when the KMP - Kundli-Manesar-Palwal - expressway will be opened. Actions speak louder than words!”
The Chief Minister wrote on his twitter, “In 2014, after the @BJP4Haryana, Haryana Govt was formed the project was revived immediately. It was also decided to upgrade the expressway to a six-lane expressway.
He also tweeted, “The Haryana Congress Govt (which had also awarded the contract) decided to terminate the contract and pay KMP Expressways and lenders Rs 1,300 crore as termination payment. In 2012, in a multi-party meeting between Haryana govt, Delhi govt. and the developer, a revised deadline of May 2013 was fixed. Due to delays, a penalty was imposed by HSIIDC after which the dispute went to courts and the project was completely stalled. According to the agreement signed between HSIIDC and KMP expressways in Jan 2005, the project was set to be completed in June 2009. However, the project missed its initial deadline and had to avail multiple extensions. The Delhi Western Peripheral Expressway was proposed in 2003, and the project was awarded to KMP Expressways ltd in 2005. The initial total cost of project was Rs. 1,915 crore.”
