PM TO SPEND EVENING LISTENING TO GURBANI ON GUR PURB
Chandigarh November 22, 2018 - Prime Minister Narendra Modi will spend the
evening of the Parkash Utsav of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji tomorrow by
listening to the sacred and divine Gurbani from Shri Guru Granth Sahib
ji Maharaj in a religious congregation at the Safdarjung Road
residence of the SAD President Sardar Sukhbir SIngh Badal and wife
Harsimrat Kaur tomorrow evening.
Giving this information to the media persons, SAD spokesperson Mr
Harcharan Bains said that this will be Prime Minister Modi's first
public appearance at a religious congregation-cum-Kirtan Darbar as a
part of the on-going celebrations of the 550th Parkash Utsav of Shri
Guru Nanak Devji. The PM's visit comes in the wake of landmark
decisions of the NDA government later in the afternoon today in which
the government announced, among other things, its decision to build a
state of-the-art corridor on the Indian side of the border as a
precursor to the possible access to the historic shrine of the first
Guru of the Sikhs in Kartarpur Sahib, just across the international
border in Pakistan.
Mr Bains said that the Prime Minister had expressed a desire to
devote an evening to spiritual upliftment in the company of the Sikh
Sangat by listening to the rendition of the divine and holy Gurbani by
exponents Gurbani music in classical ragas. Religious services and
holy Kirtan of Gurbani are a regular feature on every sacred occasion
of the Parkash Utsavs and other historic and sacred Sikh Gurpurabs.
The recitation of Gurbani followed by divine Kirtan at Mr Badal's 12
Safdarjung Road residence will commence at 7.00 PM tomorrow, said Mr Bains
