Amritsar, December 12, 2018: A gang of six unidentified masked gunmen robbed of Rs.8.60 lac from the private finance company – Bharat Financial Inclusion Limited branch at Green Valley Colony at Chherata - today at 4.30 am, by beating the staff members at the pistol point by asking them to stand at one place.
The building, which runs the office of the finance company, has its employees there since 2009. Branch Manager Baljit Singh said, "I was asleep on the lower floor and seven other employees were sleeping on the second floor. Six of them reached in the early morning and five of them had pistols while one of them was having a hockey stick and one sharp-edged weapon. They entered the outer wall of the building and entered inside.
All the unidentified persons went to the second floor and asked all the cash at the tip of the pistol to hand them over. But all the cash is with Manager Baljit Singh; that's why they came down again and asked for the key of the lock from the Manager. When the manager refused, they beat him and other employees. Later on, the Manager handed over the key and they fled away with cash of Rs.8.60 lac and take away Hero Honda Splendour motorcycle also.
According to ACP (West) Vishaljit Singh, this finance company gives interest to the people. It has opened its office without informing the police here and no security guard was also kept by the company. However, the police is not looking into the CCTV cameras footage to find any clue of the robbers.
