Chandigarh, December 12, 2018: With a haul of four gold and four silver medals hosts Panjab University emerged overall champions with 32 points in the All India Inter University Judo (Women) Championship for the session 2018-19 at the PU Gymnasium in Sector 14 here today.
Delhi University finished a close runners-up with one gold and five silver medals. Delhi University women judokas garnered 30 points. Guru Nanak Dev University of Amritsar cornered third position with nine points as he won on silver and three bronze medals.
Vineeta added one more gold to the kitty of Panjab University, Chandigarh by finishing first in 78 kg category as she defeated Gurpinder Kaur of GNDU Amritsar in the final bout. The fourth and last gold for Panjab University was clinched by Tulika Mann who prevailed over Simranpreet Kaur of Guru Nanak Dev University of Amritsar in the open weight category final.
Priyanka Balhara bagged gold medal for Delhi University as he outpointed Geeta Panjab University, Chandigarh in the 52 kg bout final.

Up to 57 kg: 1 Yamini Maurya (HSGV-Sagar), 2 Suman (Panjab University, Chandigarh), 3 Kanchan Rawat (Uni of Delhi) and Maduri Gherade (Dr. BAMU -Aurangabad).
