Bathinda, January 21, 2019: ‘Startup India Punjab Yatra’ Van, which is being organised by the Punjab government in collaboration with the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Government of India got good response at Giani Zail Singh Campus College of Engineering and Technology (GZSCCET), Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda.
The Yatra across the state is aimed to spread awareness about Startup ecosystem, motivate the youth, create self-employment, upgrading the skills of entrepreneurs and to provide them support to set up their units under professional guidance.
GZSCCET, Director, Dr. Savina Bansal, Dean Students Welfare, Dr. R. K. Bansal, Dean Pharmacy, Dr. Ashish Baldi, Dean Academic, Dr. J.S. Tiwana, MRSPTU, Director Training and Placement, Harjot Singh Sidhu along with heads of departments and students received the Yatra van on the Campus premises.
More than 100 entrepreneurs registered themselves at GZSCCET, for attending boot camp (Idea Pitching Competition) on January 22 at Baba Farid Group of Institutions, Bathinda . The boot camp will present the government’s initiative to promote startups, ideation workshop, idea pitching sessions and train the trainers workshop.
The yatra encouraged the youth to nurture the new startup ideas and provided a platform to handhold budding entrepreneurs so that they realize their startup dream, get incubated at a facility and take their idea to the next stage.
