Sangrur district Tops in State in Providing timely Services to Residents
98.46 per cent applications disposed off

Sewa Kendra set up by Punjab government extending a transparent and timely services to the residents are turning out to be a boon for the state.
In a latest development, latest list issued by the state government under the e-district project in providing timely services to the residents, Sangrur district has been declared as the number one district in the state leaving behind many big districts including Amritsar, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Patiala etc.
While giving this information, Deputy Commissioner Sangrur Ghanshaym Thori said last year district Sangrur had stood at sixth position in the state in providing timely services to the residents at Sewa Kendra. Now with the regular supervision of the project and improvement in its services, now the district Sangrur has come at the first position in the state in providing services to the people.
This all has happened due to the hard working and mature approach of the district administration officials and staff of Sewa Kendra, Deputy Commissioner further added.
While sharing the further details of the development, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshaym Thori revealed that from August 12, 2016 to January 18, 2019, Sewa Kendra of the Sangrur district had received 3,86,855 various kinds of applications out of which 19970 forms were rejected due to some technical issues while 3,58030 lakhs applications were disposed of by providing the sought services to the residents.
Deputy Commissioner Ghanshaym Thori said that going by the latest figures, only 1.54 per cent applications are pending with the Sewa Kendra while 98.46 per cent applications have been disposed of by providing the required services to the applicants.
He further revealed that in Sangrur district, 31 Sewa Kendra are providing services to the residents.”These 31 Sewa Kendra apart are providing 89 Online Services, along with total 279 different government services.
He asserted that Sewa Kendra are the assets of the district and to keep them in progressive mode, regular meetings are being done to take feedback and to make improvements so that resident may not suffer any kind of inconvenience. He added that due care also being paid on the training aspect of the staff of Sewa Kendra so that they may stay updated about the upcoming developments.
