Bathinda Rajbaha Re-Construction will Benefit Farmers
47.82 KM long project will cost Rs 23.10 Crore: XEN Gurjinder Bahia

Bathinda, 23 January, 2019: The re-construction and realignment of the Bathinda Rajbaha which passes through the city near ITI will benefit farmers of the nearby villages falling under the Bathinda (Rural) constituency. The re-construction is to done by using concrete mix M grade 15 which is considered to the best.
Confirming this development, Executive Engineer Bathinda Canal division Gurjinder Singh Bahia told babushahi “The project has been approved by the state government. The 47.82 KM long project will cost Rs 23.10 Crore. The work on the project will start shortly”.
The project will benefit the farmers of the villages of Gehri Butter, Shergarh, Mehta, Gurusar Sehnewala, Jai Singh Wala, Dunewala, Bhagwangarh, Sangat, Pholo Mithi, Jassi Bagh Wali, Kuti and Jodhpur Romana. They were not getting proper irrigation facility as per their needs.
It will serve a useful purpose to save the water getting fritter away through seepage, more water will available to the farmers as per their demand and it will also beautify the ITI area of the city due to its construction with concrete material.
Lot of spadework has done by Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal and Congress leader Harvinder Singh Laddi to get this project approved.
