Chandigarh, February 16, 2019: Punjab today bid a tearful adieu to the four Pulwama CRPF martyrs from the state, who were cremated with full state honours on the directives of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh.
State cabinet ministers and MLAs joined the people of the respective native places of the slain soldiers, who were laid to rest amid shocked tears.
Constable Maninder Singh was cremated in Dina Nagar, where Cabinet Minister Aruna Chaudhary besides DIG Border Range, DIG CRPF, Deputy Commissioner and SSP Gurdaspur were present.
At the cremation of Constable Sukhjinder Singh at village Gandiwind in Tarantarn, Cabinet Minister Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria, MLAs Harminder Singh Gill, Sukhpal singh Bhullar, Dr Dharmbir Aghnihotri, Kulbir Singh Zira, along with Deputy Commissioner Tarantaran were present.
The cremation of Kulwinder Singh in village Rauli in Sri Anandpur Sahib was attended by Speaker Vidhan Sabha KP Singh Rana, besides DC Rupnagar Sumeet Kumar Jarangal, DIG CRPF AS Negi and SSP Rupnagar Swapan Sharma.
Cabinet Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu, MLAs Sukhjeet Singh Lohgarh, Kulbir Singh Zira, Harjot Kamal besides Ex MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhos, and local Congress leader Maheshinder Singh attended the cremation of martyr Jaimal Singh in Moga.
Captain Amarinder Singh has directed the authorities to ensure all possible help for the bereaved families in their hour of need and grief. It may be recalled that the Chief Minister had yesterday also announced a government job and Rs 12 Lakh for the next of kin of the four martyrs from the state.
