Ferozepur March 1, 2019: ‘Wall of Democracy” depicting the importance of voting in world’s largest democratic country India, under SVEEP –Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation - Programme of Voters Awareness Campaign established at border village government school Gatti Rajo Ke was dedicated to the public, under the patronage of Chander Gaind, Deputy Commissioner.
The rally of students with the participation of more than 150 students, on this occasion, visited the adjoining villages with banners, placards, pamphlets in their hands besides organizing the signature campaign, poetry recitation, and declamation contests.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr.Satinder Singh, Principal – National Awardee, said, a ‘Wall of Democracy” by Voters Literacy Club of the school was established in the school. In this programme, the representative of the Election Office of Assembly Constituency Ferozepur City-76 Lakhwinder Singh Vocational Coordinator, District Guidance Councilor, Sandeep Kamboj were also present.
Sharing about the importance of the voting – an important pillar of Democracy - in detail, Dr.Satinder Singh said a special registration camps are being set-up on all the polling booths on March 2 and 3 for special registration of voters for those who have completed 18 years of age on January 1, 2019, and in this campaign, the entire team of SVEEP, Voters Literacy Club and Campus Ambassador, will cooperation. He said the aim of this campaign is to register maximum voters and to motivate to use right to vote without any vested interest, caste, and creed besides its drug-free use.
Lakhwinder Singh, Sandeep Kamboj and Programme Incharge Rajesh Kumar also put wiser the students and villagers about registration of vote, its deletion and change of address etc. by using the specific proformas and pledge to vote.
