Ferozepur March 14, 2019: The railways have introduced UTS on Mobile App’ for cashless, paperless and queue-free booking of unreserved tickets. An awareness campaign at all the main stations for booking of the ticket through mobile app has been started from today.
Passengers using the unreserved suburban tickets - UTS mobile app can travel without taking a hard copy of the train ticket. During the train journey, when the ticket checking staff asks for the ticket, a passenger can simply use the ‘Show Ticket’ option in the UTS app.
Necessary directions to all main stations have been passed on to put wiser the passengers to book the ticket through the mobile app, said Vivek Sharma, Sr.DCM. He said they should inform them that by using the mobile app, they will not have to stand in the queue at the counter which will save both time and money.
Malkit Singh, Sr. Inspector, and Jay Parkash Meena, Booking Staff were also available for appraising the passengers,
The UTS application needs to be downloaded on the mobile from application play store or application store. After downloading, one has to register himself and after registration R-wallet with zero balance will appear and money has to be kept in the application.
R-Wallet can be loaded from any UTS counter – Ticket Window or online www.utsonmoile,indianrail.gov.in and mobile number and password have to be loaded on the website and after this wallet, the recharge process will start.
They said any train booking including the general, mail, month or platform ticket can be booked. For booking of ticket, you have to be within 5 km range of the station but 2 km from the platform area. While booking the ticket, the internet and GPS on your mobile must be working. After logging in on UTS application, the payment may be made through R-Wallet after completing all the required formalities for booking the ticket and you will get your ticket on mobile.
The app cannot be used to make advance reservations; consequently, the date of the journey will always be the current date. Also, no tickets can be booked if a user has poor or no data connection.
