Mansa, April 09, 2019: All information pertaining to the General Elections 2019, ranging from the complaints related to violation of model code of conduct to the information about voters is accessible right on the fingertips of a common man due to the mobile applications that Election Commission of India (ECI) has developed. District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Mansa Miss Apneet Riyat stated this here today.
She said that the ECI has developed various mobile applications that enables citizens to keep an eye on the violations of model code of conduct and also provides them information about voters on tips. It has also developed applications from where political parties can seek various kinds of permissions.
District Election Officer Miss Apneet Riyat stated that the Suwidha mobile application acts as a single window for the political parties and candidates to take permissions for holding congregations, ralies etc. The ECI grants permissions after 24 hours of filing of the same. She added that 14 applications for permissions were received through this app of which 12 permissions have been granted, one rejected and one is under progress.
Deputy Commissioner added that another app named C-Vigil (Citizen Vigil) enables anyone to have time stamped violation of model code of conduct proof or that of expsnes as well as auto location data live photo and video facility. Any citizen can lodge his or her complaint using this mobile application. Once the complaint is filed, the flying squad conducts inquiry into it and thr Returning Officer takes decision. The status of complaint is shared with the complainant on C Vigil itself within a stipulated time period. She added that 10 applications have been received so far through this app of which 6 have been resolved while rest 4 have been dropped.
She added that the ECI has also set up voter helpline to enable voters get details on their fingertips. This app contains the voters' lists, enables voters to find their names, submit online forms, check status of application, lodge complaint on mobile app. One can also seek details from the booth level officer, election registration officers and district election officer, Besides app, one can also log on to www.nsvp.in or call at 1950 seeking the same information. People can also send SMS on 1950 and get the facility, which is absolutely free. All forms, results, candidates' affidavits, press notes, voter awareness and other directions can be taken from this mobile app.
District Election Officer Miss Apneet Riyat further added that special mobile app has been developed for the handicapped (Divyang) voters known as Persons With Disability (PWD app). Any disbaled person can make request for new vote, change of address, changes in personal details and get facilities by registering as PWD voters on this app. PWDs have to only fill their contact information and then it will be responsility of the booth level officer to provide doorstep facility.
